Sarah Perkins
Sarah Perkins is a founding member and Managing Director of the Houston Brass Quintet. She calls Houston home after receiving her master’s degree from University of Houston. She is an active freelancer, and teaches at the Village School. She hopes to keep brass chamber music relevant and alive in the Houston area.
Russell Haehl
Born and raised in Houston, Russell is an active freelancer and teacher in the Houston-area. He attended the High School for Performing and Visual Arts, the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Houston. In addition to being the Artistic Director and first trumpet of HBQ, Russell is a member of the Houston-based jazz band, Julia and the Standards.
Mary Gold
Mary Gold is a founding member of the Houston Brass Quintet. She is an active musician, teacher, and conductor in the Houston area. Mary teaches Band in Katy I.S.D. and is Music Director for the Houston Sinfonietta. She is a member of Texas Music Educators Association where she was Region 23 Junior High Band Coordinator for 15 years as well as a member of Texas Bandmasters Association.
Ryan Rongone
Ryan Rongone maintains an active freelance career as a trombonist in the Houston area. Currently, he is a member of the Houston Brass Quintet and the Principal Trombonist of the Houston British Brass Band. He is also a regular substitute with the Houston Symphony Orchestra, the Houston Grand Opera, the Houston Ballet, and the Houston Jazz Orchestra.
Allyn Lindsey
Allyn Lindsey grew up in the Houston area, where he enjoys an active freelancing and teaching career. In addition to playing tuba, Allyn also plays bass trombone, electric bass, and frequently writes arrangements for the group. Allyn attended the University of Texas at San Antonio, as well as Texas State University.
