Outreach
At HBQ, we are acutely aware of the power for good music has in our society. That is why we are a 501c3 Non-profit organization. There are three aspects to our community outreach programs:
We love to perform free concerts for the Houston community. Whether in parks, for City of Houston events, or playing holiday music on the street, spreading the love of brass music to our community is very important to us!
As teachers, all of us understand the importance of a good arts education. While all of our members spend many hours each week on our own personal private lesson studios and school band programs, as a quintet, we seek out opportunities to present educational programs in Houston area schools as well. Reach out to us about coming to your school or music program to share the magic of brass quintet music with your students!
We are also proud partners with Young Audience of Houston! To learn more about this great organization and our role with them, visit the Young Audiences website.
Alzheimer’s and Dementia
The final aspect of HBQ’s mission is to play for those in our community suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia. HBQ is dedicated to performing in facilities that specialize in Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Music has been shown to offer a reprieve from some of the debilitating effects of these diseases.
If you know of any facilities that would like to have us come perform, please get in touch!
